Designer Dupes

Most of us drool over the amazing designer Ready-to-wear pieces that flood the pages of fashion magazines, websites and Instagram. However, most of us (myself included) cannot afford a designer wardrobe. This blog post will help you discover some amazing designer dupes available on the high street for a fraction of the price, both classic wardrobe staples as well as trend driven items for the current season.

The first piece are the Aquazzura Chrissy Lace-up Flats that retail for £420.00. I have loved these flats for months after seeing them on Instagram models, They are so versatile and can be worn with dresses and skirts, as well as distressed boyfriend denim. They are a truly beautiful and unique shoe, that can be dressed up as an alternative to heels! Luckily, I have found the perfect dupe and have already purchased these myself and absolutely love them! Say hello to the & Other Stories Lace-up D’orsay Flats costing £55.00.

The pair to the left are the Aquazzura flats and to the right, the & Other Stories pair! They are available in both suede and leather and come in a variety of different colours. In my opinion you would struggle to tell the difference between the two and the quality and comfort of the & Other Stories pair is fantastic.

The second dupe involves the amazing Dolce and Gabanna prints that grace the runway every season. They are absolutely beautiful but unusually they come at a cost of over £1000! This dupe is a take on the print in a lovely midi skirt that can be worn day or night this summer to give those D&G vibes.

On the left is the Dolce and Gabanna printed midi skirt that costs £595.00 at Mytheresa.co.uk and to the right is again, & Other Stories with their flared skirt. This dress displays a similar bright print design to the D&G skirt, but at a price of only £55.00. Both skirts could be worn with a crisp white shirt for a day time look, or a silky vest and a chunky black belt for more of a night time look. I’ll definitely be adding this one onto my wish list for my summer wardrobe!

Moving on from & Other Stories, my next dupe is from River Island! I’ve always loved the Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps with the amazing jewelled detail and I’ve finally found a worthy dupe! These nude coloured pumps from River Island are amazing! I’m sure the quality and sparkle of the jewels is no where near the same as the original pair, but they are still an amazing lookalike!

Obviously there would be a difference in the finish to shoe and the fabrics used would differ, but I am definitely going to be trying these dupes out! The Manolos cost £740.00 from Harrods.co.uk and the River Island dupes cost only £45.00! Worn with a pair of light wash skinnys to dress up a casual evening outfit, you’ll look amazing, or go all out with a fancy dress or jumpsuit.

Now, how do you feel about the Gucci mules? I love them, and again River Island are killing the shoe game with their range of mules. They are available in so many colours and patterns, there’s something for everyone!

The Gucci’s on the left cost £450.00 and the River Island dupes cost £55.00! An amazing dupe for one of this seasons major trends. You could wear them with distressed denim with an oversized tee for an effortlessly cool look. As an alternative you could wear trousers and a shirt to smarten them up. However you want to wear them, get them while you can because these sell out fast.

I can’t do a dupe post without adding in a handbag. A designer handbag can make a cheap outfit look so expensive and I’ve found a dupe of Stella’s famous one to amp up any outfit!

The fringing on this bag is amazing for summer ’17 and this dupe is available in black, tan and khaki from Boohoo.com. Personally, I believe the black looks the most expensive out of the three and that’s why I’m showing this colour, but the other two colours would be amazing for the coming season! I myself would not pay the full price for this bag due to the fringing being a trend that could easily date, I would only ever be prepared to pay for the designer bag in the classic style. The Stella version would set you back £1055.00 from Lousiaviaroma.com and the Boohoo alternative? £18.00! What!! Grab this while you can if you’ve been lusting over one of Stella’s amazing designs.

Balmain, the holy grail of blazers! Affiliated with the Kardashians, this high end brand knows how to do tailored blazers, but they come with a heafty price tag!

A Balmain Double-breasted Wool Blazer will cost you a whopping £1325.00 on Net-A-Porter.com but this Military style dupe from Missguided.co.uk costs only £40. The buttons on the Missguided jacket help make the jacket look a lot more luxurious and a great alternative to the Balmain blazer. Team this with a pair of black trousers or jeans for a very smart and tailored look.

Finally, self-portrait is a brand that has exploded recently and you can’t go to an event without seeing someone in one of their designs. The lace fabrics and the quirky cuts make them so unique from anything else on the market which has led to a lot of high street stores copying their designs. Missguided again, I believe, does this the best and here are some of my favourites.

These four designs in my opinion are unbelievable dupes for the self-portrait dresses, for just a quarter of the price. These styles range from £30-£60 where as a self-portrait piece could would cost you well over £200! These dresses are perfect for events such as weddings and christenings, but you do run the risk of another guest wearing the same dress which is a good reason to go high street over designer. However, it is an all round  brilliant dupe, well done Missguided!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the dupes I’ve found for some of my most lusted after items! If you want me to find any other dupes for items that you love, please let me know in the comments and also let me know if you’re going to buy any of these dupes yourself!!
