H&M Studio Press day and Collection Preview

After an 8am train down to London, we headed out of Kings Cross in a taxi and had a little mooch around Selfridges, in awe at all the amazing handbags and new in designs from the most amazing brands. My nerves were kicking in, so we stopped off at Harry’s Bar on the bottom floor of the department store, for a glass of wine and a charcuterie board. I highly recommend this place for a lovely quick lunch or drinks in London its absolutely gorgeous. I was wearing a beautiful short wrap dress from H&M and Saint Laurent boots.

At 1pm we headed to H&M HQ, where they had set up the most amazing showroom, showcasing their new AW17 Studio collection. I was introduced to the most lovely girls that worked there and shown round the showroom. The collection includes beautiful knits, structured dresses, crisp shirts and gorgeous laced trousers. The whole collection has a very clean and structured feel. There was honestly not one piece that I didn’t like.

We spent a while looking at everything and I got to try on all of the pieces. I had some photographs taken of myself in them. I chose £250 worth of items to pre-order and H&M kindly gifted them to me, which was incredibly kind of them! The items I picked out can be seen below.

The first item I chose I loved instantly, its this beautiful silk dress. I absolutely love the panels in the structure and the frilled shoulders. It’s so flattering and will be a great dress to have in my wardrobe to wear at any event. It’s 100% my style.

I also picked out this amazing long sleeved jumper. Its skin tight, but made from such a comfortable fabric. I love the pearl button detail on the shoulder, that gives it a Balmain feel and it looks a lot more expensive than it is! I also picked out this beautiful wine coloured leather skirt. I absolutely love this and will be great in Autumn and Winter. I’ve paired it with some knee high boots here, but it would also look great with tights or heels for a more evening look.

The final items I picked out were this lovely bra top, I would wear it under a blazer, like I have done in the photos above, or under a more sheer top, such as the jumper I also chose. I had to get this top in a size 14 because it was so tiny, so bare this in mind if you are ordering off the website. I also got these amazing trousers! They are navy with black lace panelling down the side. They’re so flattering and comfortable to wear and again, like the jumper, remind me of Balmain. I think these are my favourite piece I picked up and I can’t wait for an excuse to wear them!

After saying goodbye to the lovely H&M girls, we headed to Liberty’s, as its next door to the H&M showroom. It’s such a beautiful store that stocks some brands that are harder to get hold of. We then went to Aqua, an ace rooftop bar in London and the weather was scorching, which made it even better. We both had a fabulous gin and tonic and enjoyed the sunshine while reflecting on our day!

It was honestly one of the best experiences of my life, especially because I would love a career in fashion styling. Thanks again to the amazing girls at H&M for such a fabulous day and for all the lovely clothes. Please get your hands on some of the amazing Studio Collection launching next Thursday! Be quick because it won’t be in stock for long! Another thing to bare in mind when ordering is that the pieces are tiny and I had to size up in some of them.
