What I did and wore in London

Before a new year at Uni starts, James and I headed to London for a little weekend away. We took the train down from Sheffield on Saturday morning and dropped our bags at the hotel before spending a few hours wondering around Covent Garden. We stopped and watched all the street performers and shopped in all the usual high street favourites – Zara, Mango, COS and a new store I wanted to check out, Arket (H&M’s sister store). I loved the overall look of the store and all the clothes were very clean cut and modern. There were lots of beautiful coats and jackets, cosy knitwear sets and gorgeous dresses. Please make sure to go if you’re in the area, or check out their website!

We then headed to check out London Fashion Week Festival, which James was very happy about! We spend a while looking round the clothes stalls, but the crowds were too huge to move, so we decided to leave and visit Selfridges. I love Harry’s Bar on the ground floor so we grabbed a quick drink before wondering around the store.

Later on in the evening we went to The Ivy Chelsea Garden for a lovely meal. We had an amazing steak and washed it down with a lovely bottle of wine and a few G&Ts!! I’d highly recommend this place, the food was amazing and in a beautiful garden setting.

We walked down the road to The Phene pub in Chelsea to have some more drinks before getting a taxi back to our hotel.

The next morning (after recovering from a huge hangover), we finally got ourselves out of bed and headed to the V&A museum to look at the Balenciaga exhibition. It was a lovely exhibition showcasing the history of the brand and how far fashion has come since the late 19th century. It was a lovely sunny morning so, we wandered down the road to find somewhere to eat. We stopped halfway to Harrods in a gorgeous café and had my favourite charcuterie.

After a lovely lunch in the sunshine, we made a quick stop in Harrods before getting a train back to Sheffield. It was an amazing weekend.
