How to: Style Sock Boots

The must have shoe of the season, thanks to Balenciaga, who made it trendy in their AW 17 catwalk, everyone and their dog has been wearing them. The likes of Kendall Jenner, Haley Baldwin, Winnie Harlow and Rihanna are all fans of the sock boot. I myself, love the style of the shoe because, it is so flattering and really elongating on the legs, not to mention how comfortable they are! Anyone can pull off this trend, it’s just a matter of what to pair it with. If you’re struggling for inspiration, look no further, this blog post will show you 4 easy ways to wear them.

The first way of wearing a sock boot is with a dress for an evening occasion. This floral dress is from Zara, as are the boots. This is a great quick and easy look. I love how the floral dress contrasts with the less feminine shoe. The sock boot doesn’t have to be worn with this length of dress, it looks great with a midi dress, showing the smallest and thinnest part of the ankle.

This second outfit is a more relaxed way of wearing sock boots, but can still be dressed up. I’ve taken my Acne Studios jumper, that I like wearing as a dress. It’s more of a casual look for winter time and with a long wrap coat thrown on top, you’re good to go in this more transitional weather. This could be worn on an evening in the colder months, just add a long chain necklace and a statement bag and you’re good to go!

This is an example of how I would pair the boots with jeans for a daytime or nighttime  look. I love this New Look checked blazer and and worn over the shoulders it looks even more chic. It’s a simple tshirt and jeans outfit but, the shoes and smart blazer make it evening apropriate. Layer with a cosy coat and scarf when the weather takes a turn for the worst!

Next, culottes. These are again from Zara and they’re knitted, so they’re amazingly comfy. I myself, would wear this look in the daytime for a nice lunch – anywhere where there’s not much waking involved! I love a camel coat for this time of year, as it makes the most boring outfit look a million dollars. Reiss, Jigsaw and Whistles all do amazing ones.

You’ve seen the skinny jeans, how about lastly see them paired with boyfriend style. A very slouchy daytime look. Paired with this grey pearl studded jumper from Primark, a cocoon coat from H&M and the uber comfy sock boot. What’s not to like? Unbelievably comfortable and bang on trend.

I hope you have enjoyed this look book. Go out and get yourself a pair of sock boots on the high street from Zara, Topshop or M&S. Better still, go all out on the amazing Balenciaga ones if you’ve got the budget! Think of other ways to style it, skirts, leather trousers or a pyjama suit? Let me know if I’ve inspired you to try out the sock boot style and what you’ll be pairing yours with!
