We all know the Six Nations has started and so, for my dad’s christmas present we decided to take a trip to the amazing Rome to watch the England vs Italy match.
We arrived in Rome just after midday on the Friday and luckily the weather was on our side. Yep, I was outside in a t-shirt and sunglasses! Amazing compared to the crap weather in England at the moment!! We spent Friday afternoon wondering the shops in the centre of the city. We stopped for lunch at Al Pantheon Pizzicheria Romana, which is a gorgeous Italian food store that has little tables inside serving some amazing tapas and of course wine!! I wore a t-shirt by Saint Laurent, cardigan by Hayley Menzies Portobello (available at Rocca Boutique), jeans by J Brand and trainers by Golden Goose.
That evening we found a small authentic pasta restaurant and ate and drank to our hearts content before we all needed to put ourselves to bed haha!
Day 2 was again more wondering round the city. We headed to the Travestere district and had a look round all the Italian style, vintage and watch shops before stopping for some lunch. We found a gorgeous little cafe in the middle of the street and had some lovely bruschetta and lasagna.
Today I wanted to go for more of a sporty vibe with my outfit to match my new favourite shoes from Balenciaga. I managed to track down my size in the Rome store and in the new ss18 colour way!! Win!! I wore my J Brand jeans again, big Celine sunglasses, T shirt by Off White and my velvet mini Chanel boy.
After an afternoon drinking coffee and getting lost round the city, we headed back to the hotel to have some drinks in the bar and to eat at their lovely restaurant. I wore a very old dress, but still one of my favourites, by Three Floor and my Zara sock boots.
Sunday was rugby day and we got up bright and early to go for a walk round the gardens and get some nice breakfast. It was a gorgeous, warm, sunny morning and all the England fans were on top form, including us!! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, so we went to the square that houses the Pantheon and grabbed a table in the sunshine to enjoy some drinks with all the other fans! The atmosphere was great and everyone was having a right laugh in the sunshine. I wore my Balenciaga logo hoodie, leather trousers from All Saints and my new Balenciaga speeds.
Later that afternoon we headed to Stadio Olimpico to watch the rugby match. It was a great game, but an easy win for England which meant it wasn’t nail biting! The atmosphere was amazing and I definitely would love to go again. I’ll be off to watch Rhinos more often now but I doubt the Leeds ground will have quite the same effect! After a pizza washed down with a few pints we headed home to bed.
Overall, it was one of the best city breaks I have been on. Italy is definitely my favourite country and the food can’t be beaten. I hope this post has made you want to visit rome and if anyone wants to come to see Leeds Rhinos with please me let me know!!
